For the 1st time in the history of IAGES and under the leadership of the President Prof Dr Subhash Khanna and at the initative of Prof B. Krishna Rau & Dr S. Easwaramoorthy, the 1st National Fellowship Course in Advanced G.I Endoscopy was held at Guwahati from 22nd June till 24th June 2018, Guwahati. Swagat Super Speciality Surgical Institute in association with IAGES organized the said Programme . Where 60 delegates registered for the fellowship and the course was offered by eminent surgoens from pan India namely Prof B. Krishna Rau, Dr S. Easwaramoorthy, Dr Dinesh Kini, Dr K. Govindaraj. Dr Satyapriya De Sarkar, Dr Satish Midha, Dr Sunil Popat, Dr Amitava Goswami and Dr S. Patanaik. Apart from the course convenor Dr Subhash Khanna, Hotel Raddission Blu was the venue for the DIDACTIC session on the 1st day and the fellowship course was inaugurated on the 1st day in the evening by Sri Pijush Hazarika ,Honble Minister of Health, Govt. of Assam, and Chief Secy Govt. of Assam, Mrs T.Y. Das was the Guest of honour. In the inaugural Ceremony a “Manual of Endoscopy” was also released which was edited by Prof Subhash Khanna & co edited by Dr S. Easwaramoorthy. Sufficient numbers of Simulators were also arranged by the organizing committee so as to facilitate the delegates to have proper hands on training under the guidance of the above mentioned Faculty and apart from that easie animated models, sybionix virtual reality G.I mentors were also available for the hands on training during the course.
The 2nd & 3rd day course was held at Swagat Super Speciality Surgical Institute where around 15 difficult case were demonstrated and the delegates could attend the cases in batches with their own faculty. The significance of the three day course was that of live telecast of difficult surgery procedure namely POEM, endoscopic cystogastrostromy and GERD-X endoscopic fundoplication were demonstrated live from AIG hospital Hyderabad by Dr Mohan Ramchandari and other faculty .The course ended with on a high note and river cruise Banquet was also arranged on the second day after the hectic academic day which was throughly enjoyed by all the delegates and faculties.Photo Gallery Brochure
